Want To Know What a TF Lifer is???

Want To Know What a TF Lifer is???

What is a TF Lifer???

I know you guys have been hearing me talk about being a "TF Lifer" in my daily tweets and Facebook post. Some have even asked me, “What is a TF Lifer?”

Well first, a TF Lifer doesn’t necessarily have to be one of my scheduled clients. A Lifer can be anyone that decides to join the TF Lifer Movement.

What movement? The movement of being Fit and Healthy! It’s not just for a season, but for LIFE.

So many people make an annual ritual of working out and attempting to get in shape around March/April. They say, "I want to get fit for summer! I need to have a beach body!", after eating recklessly and not planning ANY physical activity during fall and winter. Working out is meant to be a lifestyle not just a trend or fad. You have to WANT to live longer, live healthier and have a holistic lifestyle. No, it isn’t easy and Yes, its an adjustment, but it is absolutely necessary, and definitely possible.

Everyday, someone dies of what most call Hereditary Disease, but I call Habitual Disease. Most diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, heart disease etc., can be prevented and managed by practicing better habits. Simply eating properly and doing 30–60 minutes of cardiovascular activity everyday can prevent disease. Cardiovascular activity can be walking, jogging, running, cleaning the house, washing your car, or even doing different activities with your kids.

Most people can't get to a gym or work out with a trainer, but that’s no excuse. There are plenty of fitness DVDs television programs for ALL people. Temple Fitness even has a program called “Temple Fitness On The Go” for people with busy schedules. So, living a fit and healthy life isn't as difficult as we make it. You just have to take the initiative and put YOUR life 1st. You deserve to live a life that's healthy and happy.

Anyone that decides to join Temple Fitness is taking that 1st step in becoming a Lifer. But even if you don’t have the time to join Temple Fitness, you can attend our Boot camps and follow us on Twitter and Facebook, where we are always giving great fitness tips, and subscribe to our Blog!

Anyone can be a TF Lifer! Join the movement today!!!!!

Sweat it out…then, Sweat it out!: Valentine’s Day the TF Way

We all know Valentine’s Day is the holiday of love and spending time with the people you love. Although, we believe you should be spreading love 365 days a year, we understand that most of us take this day to show the people we love just why we love them in a special way. Valentine’s Day is often filled with indulgences in candy, chocolate and desserts, but this year why don’t you do something different for your valentine? There are plenty of HEALTHY ways to express your love without loading up on the sugary treats!
Instead of sending flowers and chocolates, this year send flowers and an edible arrangement! Not only are they beautiful, but they are healthy as well. If you can’t beat the urge for some chocolate, opt for a few chocolate covered strawberries or pineapples in your arrangement.
Instead of going out to over eat and sit in a movie theater, you and your Valentine can go for a romantic run. If it’s too cold out, hit the gym together or workout in your home. You can try some of these “Better Sex” exercises below!
Ladies: Woman’s Day offers some great exercises that will improve your sex life! Did you know that toning your arms will help boost your sex drive?
Guys:  Men’s Health has designed a 4-week workout that will not only help you tone your body, but also build strength and stamina for the bedroom. Afterall, you are doing the lifting!
After you’ve worked up a sweat together, take a refreshing, relaxing and romantic shower together. WAIT! Don’t get too excited just yet, you still have to eat dinner! Once you are all cleaned up, prepare a nice healthy, candlelit meal together for you two to enjoy. You can try one of these great recipes!
After dinner, the real fun begins! Try some lower and upper body couple stretches to get you and your partner close and working together. Finish off the stretches with a sensual massage to ease the aches and pains of working out.
That’s just the beginning….Now that you and your partner have worked out, shared an intimate shower, prepared a great, healthy meal and stretched, the real workout can begin!
Try spicing up your night with a few new sexual positions! Guys, we hope you have been dedicated to lifting in the gym. Ladies, we hope that you have been doing the core Kegel exercises! You’re going to need them for some of these!
Happy Valentine’s Day!
Stay healthy. Stay Fit. Most importantly, spread LOVE! Enjoy!

TF Announces New Logo Design!

We told you Temple Fitness was doing major things in 2012! To kick off the movement, we are introducing a new logo design! Not that we didn’t love our other logo, it’s just that we feel this new logo is more in line with where TF is going and growing! We wanted to have a design that embodied what the TF brand stands for and, of course, is aesthetically pleasing for those of you who have to look at it!
We are crazy excited about the new design! This has been a very thrilling, yet at times stressful project for us! We work with a lot of perfectionists, and we all wanted to make sure that we were producing our very best. Nonetheless, this process has been in the making since early 2011. It took a lot of convincing to make our beloved CEO, Robert, believe that changing the logo design was necessary and would be beneficial to the company in the long run. Around December of last year, after many debates, discussions, subtle hints, (and prayers), he finally gave the green light to start the design process on the new logo. Since then, TF has seen over 30 designs from 4 designers! As of late last Friday night, the new logo design was finalized and cleared for launch!
Without further ado, here is the new Temple Fitness logo…
Now seems like a good time to talk about why we choose this logo as opposed to others. Logos are extremely important to brands. Often times a company’s logo is the first interaction it has with the consumer. It acts, in many ways, as the face of the brand. This means not only must it communicate what the brand stands for, but it should also stand out from the clutter and be easily recognizable amongst the company’s target publics. Therefore, you can understand the importance of us getting this right, especially in such a crowded marketplace. We wanted a logo that would give people a great sense of who we are as a company but was also special, and recognizable enough to stand out in the minds of our consumers.
The old TF logo was a circle that incorporated a silhouette figure of Robert and a globe as the prominent features of the design with “Temple Fitness Training” circling those elements As previously stated, it is not that we didn’t like that logo, however, it read very masculine, too traditional, and didn’t seem too different from any other ‘look at my big muscles’ fitness organization. Although we love Robert dearly, we have done away with his silhouette (if you miss it too terribly, you are more than willing to inquire about his training packages) and decided to go with a more sleek and modern design that incorporates a torch and the TF motto, “See.Believe.Pursue.”.
The new logo keeps the same color scheme as before: black, white, grey and lime green. The decision to keep the colors was not difficult. Those colors are not associated with another fitness club and keeping the colors help provide a level of consistency between old logo and new logo. Aside from that, lime green, is an important color. The color green is associated with health, growth, renewal, nature, wealth, prosperity, calm and many other great things! Let’s be honest too, green can also be associated with envy, jealousy, and even puke (yuck!). Hey, get a good, hard workout in and you might experience a little projectile vomit, but, they say ‘no pain, no gain’ and imagine how jealous and envious all your friends will be of your new, improved body! Thus, the dual color meaning seemed like a worthy trade off.
The torch element of the logo was actually a last minute addition that turned out to be the best idea that made it to the drawing board. We tossed around ideas of redesigning the man from the original logo or replacing the man with a pyramid. In the midst of this, we had decided to change the “T” in Temple to a torch because we thought it fit and would look cool with the pyramid as our central design figure. It really was just a side thought, and we did not give it too much attention, other than thinking it would be a cool design element. After getting the mock-ups back from the designer, the team looked at them and we all had an “ah ha” moment! Drop the pyramid, keep the torch, and there you have our new logo! Without even knowing it, we had stumbled upon a symbol that embodied Temple Fitness to a tee (no pun, intended)! Of course, we had to make sure that we weren’t completely left field in our thinking, so we had the team members to a one minute word association for the word torch. Everyone had one minute to write down all the words that came to mind, when they heard the word torch or saw a torch. We heard the usual words, like, light, fire, and the Olympics, but we were also hearing things like, freedom, empowerment, enlightenment, hope, tradition, achievement, evolution, something that is carried, something that is passed, and something that is not put down or put out. Boy, were we excited! This is the Temple Fitness brand! We got it right!
That’s the new logo and a little about Temple Fitness in a nut shell. We would love to hear your opinions on the new design. We are open to comments, suggestions, and even criticism! What you have to say matters to us because the only reason we do this if for you! We love the new logo, we love Temple Fitness, we love you guys and we hope you love it (and us) just as much as we do!

A little Bit About TEMPLE FITNESS

Temple Fitness is a health enterprise started by me.....Robert Booker. My Vision is to provide everyone the tools for healthy living and achieving realistic fitness goals, without compromising their lifestyle. People deserve the comfort of knowing that it is possible to live a healthy happy life.

Temple Fitness was founded in early 2010 when I realized how much I loved working out and wanted every one around me to be in shape and healthy. I would go to the gym every night, eat properly, and constantly do research on how to better my health. Soon I found my body changing remarkably. I also enjoyed my new perspective in life. Exercising became a stress reliever and tool I used to help refocus for up coming events and even personal situations in my life. My quest to live healthy and be in better shape started to show on the outside and people wanted to know what I did, how I did it and why I was so fulfilled. I shared with every one I could; friends, family and co workers.

I was reminded of my uncle who I admired when I was little. He was always working out at the gym and even at home. He always played sports with his kids and his friends even at the age of 40. Then I started to think "this is why I'm motivated to do this." I'd watched a role model of mine sustain a healthy and happy life, and was so successful at reaching my own short-term fitness goals, that it ignited something in me.

I was motivated to get more information on how to exercise the proper way. I became a certified personal trainer just to gain more knowledge on the subject and lifestyle. I had no intention of being a full time fitness instructor. At the time I was content as the Audio Visual Coordinator of Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. After 4 years, JHU decided to eliminate my position.

I immediately started Personal Training to occupy my time until I was rehired. In the time that I was waiting to be called back for interviews, I'd gained about 10 clients. Things sky rocketed from there. I told myself that if I wasn’t rehired at JHU then Personal Training was my purpose and destiny.

Needless to say, I wasn't rehired and Temple Fitness has been going strong ever since. I've trained all kinds people with all types of goals: your everyday person trying to lose weight and beat hereditary disease, professional athletes getting ready for the upcoming season and high profile people just trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle and image.

My rule of thumb for training is to give everyone the tools and keys to live a healthier life, but still have fun along the way. Living healthy and being in shape doesn't happen overnight, nor is it something that u can treat as a fad or trend. It’s a change of lifestyle; from your eating habits and exercising, to your sleeping habits and even your way of thinking.

The Temple Fitness motto is SEE. BELIEVE. PURSUE… See the change, Believe that you can change, and then Pursue the change!

Even if you don't have the time to join Temple Fitness, you can join this blog, follow us on Twitter @templefit4life and like us on Facebook www.facebook.com/templefit4life . I will release tools and keys to living a healthy lifestyle and making this a transition full of great expectation. We only get one Temple, let's make it fit for life!
